George Scrimshaw has a passion for his topic ‘Enthusiasm Makes a
Difference’ and it is contagious. His audiences are international and diverse;
ranging from a stadium of 4500 life insurance agents at the Million Dollar Round
Table Meeting in Atlanta, USA, to the Seventh Form Year Group at St Andrew’s
College, Christchurch.
A successful Insurance Broker and family man, George is Managing
Director of Unity Assurance Corporation Ltd, a company founded in 1962, and his
achievements, particularly in the field of life assurance, are enormous.
He was the first New Zealander to qualify for the MDRT’s
Top-of-the-Table award in 1982 and again in 1984; and in 1983 was a Foundation
Member of the $10 million Top-of-the-Table Study Group. An International Quality
Award Winner and International Pinnacle Award Winner in 1986, George entered the
International Year Book in 1987.
The son of a 1928 All Black, George’s engaging personality and
trademark every-ready handshake, have earned him a unique niche in his
professional, business and community life.
While his business premises in Vero House may be elegant
and understated, there is nothing understated about George’s enthusiasm for his
topic and the address he has presented to business and sporting audiences in New
Zealand, Australia, United Sates, Canada, England, Hong Kong and Singapore.
A Life Governor of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney,
Chairperson of the Roger Manson Medical Trust, Tom George Medical Trust, Sumner
Foundation, Kingdom Resources Trust and Open Home Foundation Child and Family
Support Service, George Scrimshaw would set the scene – and theme – for any
Conference or Meeting where enthusiasm and willingness to make a difference in
the lives of those you meet – are prerequisites for success.
